#28 of 100: Sleep. |
| Print | |
|
I thought I'd try something a little different with the rhyming structure on this one -- so the last word of each line rhymes with the first word of the next line. Sleep I can feel his darkened grasp clasp the light beneath my eyes. Tries to drag me down to sleep. Cheap promises of time well spent, lent weight by my heavy lids. Rids me of the days few worries. Hurries on this oblivion.

#26 of 100: Gods of Shopping. |
| Print | |
|
This was was inspired by a shopping trip to Cwmbran on Boxing Day. I'm still amazed by our species ability to consume. To The Gods of Shopping In this place where people worship Gods of opulence and wealth -- Purveyors stand and fall by what they sell. In this place where people bustle to and fro from shop to shop -- The Gods will laugh and take their fill. In this place where people wander lost of hope and lost of reason -- We will distract them from empty worship with our songs. In this place where people bicker lies a house of ages gone -- It alone remembers times when this was fields. In this place where people dither where money and finance are the key -- The soul of humanity lies cast asunder. Welcome to Cwmbran. It's really good for shopping.
