Cancellations, working and crunching. |

I've had a couple of gigs cancelled recently, one due to the promoters forgetting the students were away and one because the promoter forgot he'd booked me. Which left a bit of a hole in my diary. I have, however, been doing more local gigs so I don't spend as much on petrol as we're saving up for a deposit on a house at the moment. I've done gigs in Cardiff, Swansea, Abergavenny and London recently (London isn't local obviously, but it was my birthday gig and it was for a friend) tonight I'm in Cardiff again and then early next month I've got Brecon. Also next month is the first gig in Gilwern (which happens to be over the road from our house - hoorah!) After the short gap from cancellations, it took me a couple of gigs to get back on form and London this week was the first gig I've had in a while where I've really felt on top of it. The audience helped as they were lovely, but I felt like I was packing more of a punch, getting the laughs rolling and stepping on them when I wanted to push it further. That's what it's meant to be like. Everyone at the other gigs have been really nice, and I've been having pretty good gigs recently, but not feeling 100% happy with my performances. Here's hoping the next ones go well too. |

Well it's been a long week. Jem's been in London and she's finally back now! I've been writing as much as I can and trying to get some more gigs where I can try out new stuff. |

Well, my first gig of new stuff didn't go as well as I'd hoped - but also it didn't go as badly as I'd thought. After looking back over the recording I made, I think I can get 8 jokes out of it. If the last few weeks is anything to go by, I'm working at about 3:1 (rubbish:good jokes) so I want to write 30 jokes a week which will hopefully result in 10 decent jokes a week. |
